Greetings from New Hampshire! I am enjoying a relaxing time with my family. Just a few things to share.

Every year, the opening of a new Mass Intentions Book invites parishioners to reserve dates for dedicating Masses in memory or in honor of their loved ones over the next year — often selected on special anniversary dates which are important to them. Because we are a large parish and Mass dates are limited, we arrange a special process to do our best to accommodate everyone’s requests. In fairness to everyone wishing to request Mass Intentions, we ask you to limit your initial requests to two Mass intentions per parishioner. Later in the year more requests may be made. More information about the 2026 Mass book will be available soon.
Since I arrived at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish, I have noticed that Monday confessions are popular, but people often arrive at the church before I do, and things slow down around 6:15 pm. With that in mind and Bob Dylan in my ears: The times they are a changing… Starting Monday, September 8th, our new Reconciliation Schedule will be Mondays at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church from 5:30-6:30PM and by appointment.
We’re Hiring – Part-Time Faith Formation Coordinator: Our parish is seeking a friendly, faith-filled individual to serve as Coordinator of Faith Formation for Grades 4–8. This part-time role involves being present for class sessions, limited office hours and maintaining communication with parents. Faith Formation Registration is Open!

Faith Formation Registration for students in Grades Pre-K - Grade 10 is now open! Register prior to August 24, 2025 and receive a $25 discount.

Seeking Musicians to Join

Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish Dixieland Band

The band is forming to play at the picnic on September 7. Three rehearsals will be scheduled for Wednesdays in August. We especially need low brass, trumpet and drums.

Clothing Collection

Support the Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish Clothing Collection. We accept clothing in clean, good to excellent condition. Place donations in the collection bin in the front foyer of St. James Church (behind the divider). Unfortunately we are no longer able to accept household goods.

Committee Leaders Needed!

Tea Cup Raffle

Volunteer(s) needed to coordinate and collect donated items, store and bring them to the Parish Center prior to the event. Sort, set-up tables to view all items, process and oversee items pairing and display. In addition, contact raffle items winners via text/calls who were not present for the drawing. Oversee raffle ticket volunteers day of the event.

Christmas Tree Ornaments

Volunteer(s) needed to oversee collection of gently used ornaments donated by parishioners, organize, and price to sell for both the ornament's table and Christmas tree. Coordinate volunteers to decorate the tree, oversee and operate table and tree sales day of the fair.

The Holiday Fair is November 22, 2025. Training will be provided by prior year committee leaders! To volunteer to lead the Tea Cup Raffle Committee or the Christmas Tree Ornaments Committee, send an email to sjbholidayfair@gmail.com.
