Happy Easter! News from Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish

April 7, 2026

Daly Notes

Dear Friends,

The liturgies of Holy Week are very complicated and complex. A lot of behind-the-scenes work went into the planning of Holy Week and the excellence of what we experienced reflected that. A big thank you to Rochelle Bard, Lorraine Levesque, Lisa Orchen, and Deacon Michael Ward, all who helped to make things run as smoothly as they did.

Thank you also to Father George and Elizabeth Husmer. We are so grateful for your willingness to return home to help us celebrate Easter. Your experience and skill added so much to our worship.

Thank you to our Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, and Greeters who served throughout the week. To our decorating and cleanup crews, we are extremely grateful, your work decorating and cleaning the Church was great.

Music helps us all to pray more fully. Thank you to all who minister to us in song. Special note of thanks to, Rochelle and Saint Josephine Bakhita combined choirs and all our cantors and musicians for providing such beautiful music for our celebrations.

Finally, we want to thank all our faithful parishioners. It was wonderful to see such great crowds on Palm Sunday and throughout Holy Week. Your presence and your prayers helped to make my first Holy Week at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish a prayerful and meaningful experience.

Yours in the Risen Christ,

Fr. Shawn
