Deacon Michael J. Ward was ordained to the Diaconate in 2010 and began his service at St. Elizabeth Seton in July 2015, and came to serve Saint Josephine Bakhita at its creation. He and wife Krystyna, of Gdansk Poland, married in 1984, and have been members of the St. Elizabeth Seton community since its early years at Wiremold. They are the proud parents of two adult children raised in Rocky Hill, Leszek (married to Jennifer, parents to three lovely children Oliver, Dorothy and Arthur) and daughter Eva. At Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish his areas of focus and interest are in adult faith formation including Bible Study. He finds great reward in helping adults to discover the Catholic faith for the first time and "cradle Catholics" in discovering what they may have missed thus far. He has Masters Degrees from UCONN (government) and Holy Apostles College and Seminary (theology). He loves to ride his bicycle and read, especially at the intersection of history, the Faith and current affairs. He loves a good glass of wine with Krystyna on their deck in the late afternoon. He and Krystyna love to travel together, especially to Poland to visit family.
